Nigeria records 601 new COVID-19 infections

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced a total of 601 new COVID-19 infections in the country.

With the latest number of cases, Nigeria has now recorded a total 51, 905 cases so far.

The breakdown of the figure released by NCDC via its verified Twitter handle shows Lagos state leading with 404 cases, while FCT trailed with 37 cases.

Details of the number of cases recorded by each of the states on Saturday August 22, 2020 are contained below:

The release further showed that a total of 38, 767 persons have been discharged while the country has recorded 997 deaths so far.
