Nigeria records 143 new COVID-19 infections

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced a total of 143 new COVID-19 infections in the country.

With the latest number of cases, Nigeria has now recorded a total 54, 008 cases so far.

The breakdown of the figure released by NCDC via its verified Twitter handle shows Plateau state maintaining its lead with 35 cases, while Kaduna state trailed with 21 cases.

Details of the number of cases recorded by each of the states on Monday August 31, 2020 are contained below:

The release further showed that a total of 41, 638 persons have been discharged while the country has recorded 1,013 deaths so far.
