Nigeria records 296 new COVID-19 infections

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced a total of 296 new COVID-19 infections in the country.

The country also recorded six additional deaths from the rampaging virus.

With the latest number of cases, Nigeria has now recorded a total 55, 456 cases so far.

The breakdown of the figure released by NCDC via its verified Twitter handle shows plateau state leading the pack with 183 cases, while Lagos trailed with 33 cases.

Details of the number of cases recorded by each of the states on Tuesday September 8, 2020 are contained below:

The release further showed that a total of 43, 334 persons have been discharged while the country has recorded 1,067 deaths so far.
