Port Harcourt, Nigeria – The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) has issued a stern warning to the immediate past governor of the state, Nyesom Wike, stating that there is no place for him within the party. In a statement released by the APC’s Publicity Secretary in Rivers State, Darlington Nwauju, the party made it clear that Wike’s previous actions and conduct disqualified him from joining their ranks.

Nwauju highlighted the eight years of alleged terror inflicted upon APC members in Rivers State during Wike’s tenure as governor as the primary reason for their unwelcoming stance. The party firmly asserted that Wike could not join their ranks to continue where he left off.

“The reign of terror unleashed upon our party members throughout his eight years of absolute rule serves as sufficient evidence that Wike has no place in Rivers State APC. Inviting him to join would be akin to inviting an enemy to finish off his victims,” stated Nwauju.

The statement further revealed that the APC was aware of Wike’s alleged schemes to evade justice regarding allegations of looting the collective wealth of Rivers State’s residents. The party believes that his alleged engagement with prominent APC members is an attempt to secure protection and avoid being held accountable.

In a direct message to those advocating for Wike’s inclusion in the APC, the statement emphasized that non-APC members could not serve as cheerleaders for his potential entry into the party. The party made it clear that Wike’s track record and alleged actions rendered him incompatible with their principles and objectives.
