Three children of Zamfara State Sub-treasurer, Alhaji Yusuf Marafa, have been abducted by bandits.
One of Marafa’s neighbours, Malam Kamalu Nahuche, was killed during the incident, which occurred at Nahuche community in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The kidnapped children were identified as Mansur Yusuf, Sa’adu Yusuf and Anas Yusuf.
It was gathered that the bandits, who operated with motorcycles, drove into the community and went straight to Marafa’s house and whisked away the three children.
The neighbour, Kamalu, was reportedly shot dead when he came out of his house.
Eye witnesses disclosed that the bandits also entered the house of one Ibrahim Maishago, a businessman, and attempted to kidnap his children.
Public Relations Officer, Zamfara State Police Command, Muhammad Shehu, confirmed the incident saying that armed policemen had already been deployed to the affected area to restore normalcy and peace.
