Nigeria records 216 new COVID-19 infections

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced a total of 216 new COVID-19 infections in the country.

With the latest number of cases, Nigeria has now recorded a total 54, 463 cases so far.

The breakdown of the figure released by NCDC via its verified Twitter handle shows Plateau state maintaining its lead with 59 cases, while Rivers state trailed with 27 cases.

Details of the number of cases recorded by each of the states on Wednesday September 2, 2020 are contained below:

The release further showed that a total of 42, 439 persons have been discharged while the country has recorded 1,027 deaths so far.
