Nigeria records 221 new COVID-19 infections

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced a total of 221 new COVID-19 infections in the country.

With the latest number of cases, Nigeria has now recorded a total 53, 021 cases so far.

The breakdown of the figure released by NCDC via its verified Twitter handle shows Plateau state leading with 60 cases, while the FCT trailed with 33 cases.

Details of the number of cases recorded by each of the states on Wednesday August 26, 2020 are contained below:

The release further showed that a total of 40, 281 persons have been discharged while the country has recorded 1,010 deaths so far.
