Nigeria records 476 new COVID-19 infections

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced a total of 476 new COVID-19 infections in the country.

With the latest number of cases, Nigeria has now recorded a total 50, 964 cases so far.

The breakdown of the figure released by NCDC via its verified Twitter handle shows Lagos state leading with 235 cases, while FCT trailed with 44 cases.

Details of the number of cases recorded by each of the states on Thursday August 20, 2020 are contained below:

The release further showed that a total of 37, 569 persons have been discharged while the country has recorded 992 deaths so far.
