Plateau maintains lead as Nigeria records 296 new COVID-19 infections

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced a total of 296 new COVID-19 infections in the country.

With the latest number of cases, Nigeria has now recorded a total 53, 317 cases so far.

The breakdown of the figure released by NCDC via its verified Twitter handle shows Plateau state maintaining its lead for third day running with 85 cases, while Enugu state trailed with 46 cases.

Details of the number of cases recorded by each of the states on Thursday August 27, 2020 are contained below:

The release further showed that a total of 40, 726 persons have been discharged while the country has recorded 1,011 deaths so far.
